offline mode enhancements
lately I’ve been using the offline mode more frequently (on mac) and i’ve noticed that quite a lot of features are missing. of course i didn't expect the same experience as in the online version (which already is the best music player for mac!), but i guess some things like a simple search function, songs/albums/artists/playlists categories could technically be accessible even without a connection to the server? currently there’s only the downloads category, the album artworks of the downloaded songs and a shuffle button. would be awesome if a few of the main features were also available in offline mode :)
Crossfade
Would be great to get a crossfade with a timing slider. Different crossfade types would be the cherry on top, but not necessary. Just simple like in iTunes would be sufficient.
Public repo mirror
I see in your FAQ about being hesitant to open source due to flood of AI spam. I came looking for a repo to donate for such a beautifully crafted app. If you would instead consider keeping your existing processes but keep a public read only repo mirror, I would love to do so knowing the code is open source, and support you keeping it so.
Play multiple libraries at the same time
For example, regular music and Christmas music are in separate libraries. Because who wants year round Christmas music? In December you may want to throw Christmas music into the mix. Toggle both the regular and Christmas libraries and you have the best of both worlds.
Show collections with CarPlay
CarPlay doesn’t show the “collection” tab. The iPhone view does.
Continuous scrolling through library
Scrolling through the albums/artists/songs in your library is done in chunks of 100 items - when you reach the bottom of the list of 100 items, the next 100 loads after a small delay. This makes browsing large libraries really tedious. Browsing libraries would be much improved if scrolling was continuous, never pausing/hitting the scroll bottom until the end of the library.
Move the search button
The current location of the search button requires going back at least one or more times to access it again. I would recommend moving it to the top of the sidebar, mirroring the way Apple Music app is, so that the search function is always available from anywhere in the app.
Returning to Search Results
[IOS] When looking at Search Results, if I click on a search result and then click on the back arrow, I expect to go back to the Search Results. Instead it takes me to the home screen. This is a frustrating navigation flow.
Option to view downloads as a list
hi, I am trying to make use of todays fix of codec badges in offline mode so I am redownloading all previously downloaded songs. however this is quite tedious because of the limited album view. basically I have to click on each album which contains downloaded songs, then click on the song to remove the download and the redownload the song. I think being able to choose different views, for example list view of downloaded songs next to the current album view, would improve the UX. being able to multi-select the entries in said list and then choosing an option that applies to all (delete download, download, add to playlist etc.) would also be fantastic! I hope it’s possible to implement these improvements
New Widgets
Could you provide additional widgets? Specifically for Standby on iPhone. The same size widgets can be used in CarPlay too. Home Screen widgets would also be appreciated too.

Can we have multiple app icons to choose from? The default is a bit dark and doesn’t stand out next to other icons of similar blue and purple color scheme.

Artist view on macos: don't understand how to scroll albums
For me it’s unclear why albums in the artist view are presented in a single row. I don’t understand how to scroll??? A grid would be much easier and see all albums of an artist at a glance. Thanks
More choices of accent colours
Hi there! Could we please have an expanded list of accent colours? Unless I’m doing something wrong, all I can see at the moment are pink/purple, two reds, an orange, yellow, and green. Personally I’d really love a blue.

Bug report - library > artist > no music
Running finer on tvOS Apple 4kTV, am unable to access music via artist button in library. Selecting an artist from the list brings up a play and shuffle button but shows no music and launches nothing. Accessing music via albums works fine. Running jellyfin on a synology nas. Same app on iOS works ok just the tvOS version that’s problematic.
Alphabetical quick scroll index
It would be very helpful to have a fast alphabetical navigation index across the various tabs of the application. The idea would be to display an alphabetical index along the right side of the screen, similar to what the native iOS Contacts app offers, allowing users to quickly jump to any letter with a single tap or by sliding their finger.

Use Saved Jellyfin Server Credentials for CarPlay
When launching CarPlay, the app frequently prompts me to open the app on my phone in order to connect to the Jellyfin server. I don’t need to re-enter credentials, as they are already saved — however, CarPlay seems unable to use them unless the main app has been opened first. It would greatly improve the CarPlay experience if the app could automatically use the stored Jellyfin server credentials, even when the iPhone app has not been manually launched beforehand. Allowing CarPlay to authenticate seamlessly in the background would make the startup experience much smoother and more consistent.

Hi, First of all it is a great App. If I disable transcoding it is Lossless Audio if I has stored flac on Server right? Why is there no option to download without transcoding? Would be nice to download flac for offline use
Shortcuts integration
Looking for a basic integration, like play, pause, play all favorites or specific playlist. This basic commands can do a lot with the iOS shortcuts app.
Likes not sticking
Likes on songs are not being saved. I didn’t have any, so in the last update I started giving hearts to songs. After about 20, I tried the option “shuffle favorites” and it didn’t play anything. I went back to the songs I had given hearts to and they didn’t have them anymore. I tried a few more times and the heart kept going back to white.
[macOS] Desktop Mini Player or Widget
It would be very useful for the desktop app to include a mini player or desktop widget that allows quick access to playback controls and currently playing information. Ideally, this could provide: A compact view showing the current track, artist, and artwork Quick controls (play/pause, next, previous) Optional features such as displaying lyrics (similar to the mini player experience in iTunes) This would allow users to monitor and control playback without needing to keep the full app window open or in focus, improving multitasking and overall usability on desktop platforms.
Multiple Server Memory
I hope to add the ability to add and remember multiple servers, as manual switching is a bit cumbersome. Thanks
Feature Request: Direct access to the current playlist/queue
It would be useful to have a faster way to access the current playlist (queue) while music is playing. Currently, I have to first open the song details view and then access the queue from there. This adds an unnecessary step when I simply want to see or manage the songs that are currently queued. Suggested behaviour: Provide a direct, easily accessible way from the main player/mini player to open the current playlist/queue, without having to first open the song details view. This would make it much quicker to review, reorder, or manage the upcoming songs during playback.
CarPlay: Missing Shuffle buttons
I always make use of the shuffle all/favorites when playing music. I find this sorely missing from CarPlay, resulting in me opening the phone to start a shuffle and then control from the car. Would love to see the shuffle buttons in the carplay UI
Continue playing button in Carplay
When in the car, I often start with a podcast in my podcast app and then continue playing my music in Finer. However, in that case Finer does not show a button to continue playing where I left, so I still need to get my phone to start playing in Finer. Which is not what I have CarPlay for. So it would be great if the CarPlay screen has a button to continue playing with the song that was previously playing in Finer.
Animated cover art & Album art size
I use to use magnet until a friend tell me about this app it doesn’t try to transcode it just play the file immediately i can tell the difference but it would be amazing if it takes advantage of my animated cover art the finamp does without the phone heating up and the now playing cover art is very small there alot of space that can be used but otherwise from that amazing app i dont think i’ll be seeing magnet until carplay
