Use Saved Jellyfin Server Credentials for CarPlay
When launching CarPlay, the app frequently prompts me to open the app on my phone in order to connect to the Jellyfin server. I don’t need to re-enter credentials, as they are already saved — however, CarPlay seems unable to use them unless the main app has been opened first.
It would greatly improve the CarPlay experience if the app could automatically use the stored Jellyfin server credentials, even when the iPhone app has not been manually launched beforehand.
Allowing CarPlay to authenticate seamlessly in the background would make the startup experience much smoother and more consistent.

Unfortunately, I’m seeing the same issue when trying it in a Honda today. When I first launched CarPlay, I encountered the same login problem. I then disconnected from CarPlay, opened the app on my phone, and logged into the server from the recent server list. After that, I quit the app on my phone and reconnected to CarPlay, but the issue still occurs.
I’m running the latest version (v1.37.0) as of today on an iPhone 15 Pro (iOS 26.3.1).

Hi there, we’ve optimized the syncing inbetween carplay and phone in v1.33.0, could you help verifiy if the issue still persists or not ?

In my CarPlay test today, I still did have to open the app on my iPhone, so not quite fixed yet.

@mreid Could you try again with v1.35.0, I’ve unified the login state for CarPlay and the main app.

I think I might found the root cause, when store credential into system keychain, “kSecAttrAccessible“ is set as “kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlocked” by default (ref), which means when iPhone is locked and open up CarPlay App, the CarPlay app cannot successfully retrieve the credential.
Let me change that value to “kSecAttrAccessibleAfterFirstUnlockThisDeviceOnly“ in the next version.

Hi folks, I tried debug CarPlay in Finer v1.37.0 on a Toyota car, but I cannot reproduce this issue. Login works without opening the app on phone. (I am with iPhone 17 Pro. )
If this is still an issue for you with Finer v1.37.0, could you share a video where you can reproduce it.

Did major refactor for CarPlay in v1.44.0 release, I think the issue should be resolved now.
