[macOS] Bug - can't connect to Airplay

If I try and select an airplay speaker from Finer it doesn’t work. If I connect via control centre it works fine (and the volume control in Finer will then work with the selected airplay destination fine). Would be good to be able to connect to airplay via Finer directly rather than system wide.

    I optimized the Airplay module in the v1.44.0 release, verified on one device which I cannot stream previously, now it works.

    Let me close this ticket for now, please ping me if the issue still reproducible at your side.

    @David Watson @ne.dekuji

    one more test that would really help narrow this down: open Apple's Music app, start playing anything, and use its AirPlay button to select the C3 (not Control Center). Music.app uses the same per-app AirPlay path Finer does, so whichever way it goes tells us where the problem is.

    I’m running Finer v1.40 on Tahoe 26.4 (M3 Macbook Pro), attempting to connect Finer to shairport-sync (4.3.7 on Debian 13), and I can’t connect to that either.

    I can, however, redirect the entire system audio to shairport-sync and it works just fine (but isn’t a very good solution).

    There’s another user reported the similar issue with “Apple AirPort Express A1264 (latest firmware v7.8.1)“: ref

    Hi @ne.dekuji, would you mind share the device you are using, and if possible, the airplay protocol version as well.

    The feature works for me with my Sonos system, and this is the first time we got such report I think.

      I’m using an Audio Pro C3, I think it’s airplay 1 only.
