Unfortunately, I have to pass on this one, and I want to be upfront about why rather than leave it as a vague "maybe someday."
Discord Rich Presence works by having the app talk directly to the Discord desktop app running on the same computer, through a private local connection. The problem is that Finer is distributed through the App Store, which requires the app to run inside Apple's security sandbox. That sandbox specifically blocks this kind of app-to-app connection — it's not a setting I can toggle or a permission I can request. Apple's own developer support has confirmed there's no workaround that's compatible with App Store distribution, and Discord's alternative network-based method is gated behind a closed partner program that isn't open to indie apps.
The only way to make it work would be to ship a separate, non–App Store version of the Mac app, which would mean giving up automatic updates and the App Store's trust/safety guarantees for everyone — too big a tradeoff for one feature.
So this isn't a "not interested" — it's a real technical wall created by how the app is distributed. I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to suggest it, and please keep the ideas coming. Many of them do make it in. 🙏
