Custom Request Headers

Feature Request

I suggest support for configuring custom HTTP request headers in Finer.

This would be useful for users running Finer behind a proxy, with special authentication requirements, or in environments where additional headers like User-Agent, X-Request-ID, or other custom headers are needed (for example with Pangolin).

Benefits

  • Better support for secure deployments

  • Easier debugging and request tracing

Expected behavior

  • Users can define custom headers in app settings

  • Headers are included in requests to Jellyfin

  • Default behavior remains unchanged if no headers are set

    hi @Duan Wen do u mind reconsider this? I was searching for the similar request and since there is already this one, I’ll post here to avoid duplicate, let me know if the conversation should be in a new request. Thanks

    I think adding custom header/mtls to client is great. Since we can add validation on server side, or even better—-cloudflare, so that malicious request does not even reach our servers.

    I think there is a trend that more self hosted apps are adding this sort of security enhancement. e.g. immich https://github.com/immich-app/immich/pull/10588, https://github.com/immich-app/immich/pull/10860, home assistant https://github.com/home-assistant/iOS/pull/4362

    To me this is proxy-side logic, not something the client should be doing
